PestBlock 4.1 - User Guide and FAQ

Main Window -> Status

The status window contains detailed information such as the installed database file, usage statistics of PestBlock and applications in memory.

Initialization Status

Database file - Loaded database file.
Detectable objects - Total number of detectable objects. You can see the full list of known pests by clicking on the "Details" link.
Release date - Release date of database. You can check for updates by clicking on the "Check for updates" link.

Usage Statistics

Last system scan - Date the last system scan was performed.
Objects removed total - Total number of pests deleted.
Total system scans - Total number of system scans.
Objects ignored by user - Total number of pests ignored by user.

Applications in Memory

Shows the total number of application in memory. On the right is informational label which show information about pests in memory. Below is is informational label which show information about identified objects in memory.

Main Window -> Scan Now

On this page you should specify your scanning options. By default all options is selected.

Select scan options
Scan Registry Keys - Scan the registry keys and items.
Scan Folders - Scan the folders where can be pests.
Scan Files - Scan all files on the system drive (where windows folder).
Scan Memory - This option allows PestBlock to scan active applications.


Now after preparing system scans, Click "Start" to begin the scan.

Main Window -> Custom Scan

On this page you need to specify a set of directories to include in the scan. Please note that after clicking "Start" button it scan only folders you specified. No any registry items, processes will not be scanned.
