Protector Plus is detecting same virus even after cleaning it, What should I do now?
In this case there are two possibilities.
a. The System Restore option might be enabled in your system. You have to disable this and scan again with Protector Plus to remove the virus completely.
To disable System Restore under Windows Me follow the given steps

A) Right click on the "My Computer" icon on desktop
B) On the menu that appears Click on "Properties" then "Performance"
C) Under "Advanced settings" choose "File system" then "Troubleshooting"
D) Activate the checkbox "Disable system restore".
E) Then click on OK button. This will disable the restore option.
F) Restart your computer to take effect the changes you made.
To disable System Restore under Windows XP follow the given steps

A) Click on Start--> Settings--> Control Panel
B) Double click on 'System' icon.
C) Click the System Restore tab.
D) Select "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
E) Click Apply.
F) Click Yes to do this in the message box that appears.
G) Click OK. This will disable the restore option.
H) Restart your computer to take effect the changes you made.

  1. What is Real-time or On-line scanning?
    Protector Plus will scan all files that are accessed in the computer on which it is installed. This process is instantaneous. On-line scanning is also refered to as 'Real-Time scanning.

  2. How to enable the Real-time or On-line scanning?
    Real-time scanning is enabled by default, when you install Protector Plus. There is a provision to disable it, if necessary.

  3. What is InstaUpdate?
    InstaUpdate is a feature of Protector Plus that ensures that the latest version of Protector Plus is installed on your computer, through a process that is automated and not requiring your intervention. It does this by checking the Proland site for updates at a pre-set frequency. If an update is found, it will download, and install the latest version automatically. InstaUpdate is enabled only on licensed versions.

  4. How do I use the evaluation copy to check for virus?
    The evaluation copy of Protector Plus will detect and disinfect virus. Install the evaluation copy you have downloaded, on your computer. You can either run a manual scan of the entire system, or check only those files or folders that are suspect. If a virus is found, Protector Plus will display a dialog box saying that you are using an evaluation copy. Choose "Continue Evaluation" to disinfect the virus.
