Adding Folders

Password Saver makes it easy to organize your records into folders. Folders let you place passwords with a similar theme in one convenient location. For example, let's say we want to add a folder for your Website accounts:
  1. Select your password file in the tree-like menu. This will ensure your new folder is placed one level below it.
  2. Either right-click the password file and select "Add Folder" or select "Add Folder" from the Edit menu.
  3. A list of folder types will appear. Select the "Website Accounts" folder. A new folder has been created under your password file.
  4. Now, to place a record in this new folder, just right-click the folder and select "add record" from the pop-up menu, or select "add record" from the Edit menu.


Adding Records

To add a record to your Password Saver file:
  1. Right-click the node/ folder under which you would like the record to be stored.
  2. Select "Add Record" from the pop-up menu.
  3. Select the appropriate record from the second pop-up menu.

    Note:

    Alternatively, you can select the node/folder and select "Add Record" from the "Edit" menu.
  4. Give your record a name. In the example below, we name our record "MasterCard:"
  5. Fill in the fields for this record in the detail view (right pane). The example below shows the "Card Number" field filled:


Searching for Folders, Records and Fields

To search for folders, records and fields:
  1. Select "Find" from the "Tools" menu, or click the "Find" button on the toolbar. This will bring up the Find window.
  2. Enter the keyword(s) you wish to search for in the top field.
  3. Select whether you would like to search for Folders, Records, or Fields.
  4. Click the "Search" button.


Exporting Data to a Text File

Password Saver makes it easy to export data into text file format (.txt). To export your data into a .txt file:
  1. Select "Export To File" from the "Tools" menu. A password dialog will appear.
  2. Select "Text (*.txt)" from the "Save as type" selection box.
  3. Enter a file name, such as "MyPasswords"
  4. Click "Save"

    Your data has now been exported to a ".txt" file.


Exporting Data to a XML File

Password Saver makes it easy to export data into XML file format (.xml). To export your data into an .xml file:
  1. Select "Export To File" from the "Tools" menu. A password dialog will appear.
  2. Select "XML Data (*.xml)" from the "Save as type" selection box.
  3. Enter a file name, such as "MyPasswords"
  4. Click "Save"

    Your data has now been exported to an ".xml" file.
