Frequently Asked Questions - 5star Audio Studio

  1. I installed the program and want to see what stations are available, what do I do?
Click on the Genre dropdown list and select all of the types of music you want to display. This will find all of the current stations available.

  2. What is the "Record Now" button and how do I use it?
When this button is illuminated, it means that you can click on it and capture the entire song, EVEN if it is almost over. When the song ends, so does recording of that station.

  3. Each station has a bitrate. What does that mean to me?
The higher the bitrate, the better the quality of the recorded music. In general, 128kbits is sufficient for near CD quality. For portable devices, such as MP3 players with headphones, a much lower bitrate will suffice.

  4. What does a bitrate mean?
It may mean that the station is currently offline, but try playing the station and see what happens since this value is not continuously updated.

  5. So now that I recorded what I like, how do I get it to play on a CD in my car?
Using the nonvert Audio function in 5star Audio Studio you can turn the MP3, OGG or any other format into a WAV, which can then be burned to a CD with the yurn CD/DVD function.

  6. How do I sort stations by Genre?
By clicking on nenre you can select any type of music you like, then only those stations will appear for you to listen to/record.

  7. Are there more stations available? How do I find them?
5star Audio Studio allows you to go to an online database using the met more stations button. This list is continuously updated and growing. Currently there are more than 8000 available stations.
