Frequently Asked Questions - Audio Tags Editor

  1. What are ID3, tags and frames?
An ID3 tag is a part of an MP3 file where the extended information about the file is stored. Tags consist of frame sets. Frames can contain any type of information and data, for example, track title, album, artist, comments, graphics, etc. Depending on the tags version, its frame set and frame sizes can be different. Similar tags are supported by other audio formats like OGG.

  2. Sometimes an error occurs while you are trying to save tags, rename files or folders. Why is that?
When you are trying to save it, the file can be used by another application and becomes unavailable for saving and renaming. The most common case is the attempt to save the file that is being played at the moment. Make sure the file is not being used by another application. If necessary, close other applications and try to save or rename the file again.

Under certain circumstances some software can forbid a folder to be renamed. For example, when the folder is opened in Total Commander, it cannot be renamed. To deal with such a situation, just move to another folder or one level up. Another reason for the operation of renaming a folder to be impossible is a document opened in this folder
