What is CDDB(freedb)?The original CDDB is a database to look up CD information using the internet. This is done by Ultra Tag Editor which calculates a (nearly) unique disc ID and then queries the database. As a result, the program displays the artist, CD-title, tracklist and some additional information.How to use freedb?CDDB(freedb) is very useful internet service which allows to get information. It can be very comfortable if you have no tags but know in which order tracks are on original CD. To use this feature you must connect to the Internet.To get data from freedb you should:
To get albums list you should press the "Get Album" button. If Ultra Tag Editor finds the album you will see it in the albums list at the top of the window. Make sure, that inexact matches and multiple exact matches are supported by freedb and present the list of possible matches to the user, to select the correct entry. If Ultra Tag Editor found one or more albums you should select an album and press the "Get Titles" button (or simply double click an album in the list). If freedb server will not return any errors you will see the tracks list at the right side of the files list. Now you can correct information in the "Album info" group box (Artist, Album, Year, Genre). To finish this operation check additional options ("Write track numbers" and "Write both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags") and press "Write Tags" button. Screenshots - More Details |
