How do I convert MP3 and wave files to MIDI?

Within the New Project Wizard, select the fourth option at the Audio Source step. You will be asked to enter the name of the MP3 or wave file. Provide other information as requested in the remaining wizard steps. Upon completion of the wizard, the recognizer will generate the MIDI file and open it in your MIDI player/editor software. You can specify the MIDI player/editor through intelliScore's Options window.
  1. Recognition is best on audio that is recorded at a good volume, not too fast, and contains only a few instruments and minimal drums and percussion. Select one of the four options below to indicate how you will obtain the audio, then click Next and enter the full path and name of the audio file you want recognized.

  2. Specify whether there is a single type of instrument or several different instruments in the audio (not counting drums and percussion). Then click the Next button.

  3. Click the folder button to select an existing path map to specify how the notes should be assigned. You can also click the map button to create or edit your own patch map.

  4. Specify either the easy or sync timing setting, depending on how you intend to use the generated MIDI file.

If you choose the easy type can click the Next button, you will be asked to specialfy name for MIDI file. Now congratulations! IntelliScore is now ready to convert your audio file to a MIDI file. If you want, you may adjust some advanced settings now by clicking the button on Edit Project.

  5. If you choose the sync timing settins, you will enter the Tap in the Tempo window and then specify timing resolution and the name for MIDI file.

  6. Then it is ready to generate MIDI File. If you want, you may adjust some advanced settings now by clicking the button of Edit Project.
