Frequently Asked Questions - Rummi

  1. Why won't it accept my registration code when I enter it?
Probably you made a typing error. Make sure you enter your name exactly as you supplied when you purchased your key. Note that capital and normal letters are treated differently in the name, so if you supplied your name as "John Doe", then enter "John Doe", not "john doe" or "JOHN DOE". Don't add or remove spaces.
Also, make sure that the system clock on your pc is set to the correct date. If the date is too far in the past, the registration key will not be accepted.

  2. I had to enter my full name when registering. Can I change it afterwards?
I'm sorry, no you can't change the name. That is to discourage people to share their registration code with others. You can however add a new player name, and set it as the default player (select the new player and check the Make this the default player checkbox). That way the new player will be selected automatically when you start a new game.

  3. The computer player sometimes seems to think forever. Is something wrong?
No, everything is allright. Some computer players follow a strategy that requires them to think deeper in some game situations. If it takes too long to your liking, you can make the computer player think shorter. In the Preferences window (Menu: Options | Preferences), on the Computer tab page, you can tick the checkbox labelled Limit computer thinking time to and select a number of seconds. Then the computer player won't think longer than that.

  4. The program acts strangely. It doesn't seem to obey certain rules and sometimes it crashes. Can you fix this?
Uninstall Rummi. Download the latest version and install it. Do not use any cracks, or registration keys you get from someone else.

  5. I cannot play online. What is the matter?
Probably you are running a firewall on your computer. To enable Rummi to contact the game server, you must grant the Rummi program internet access.

  6. How do I start a new game when I am playing online?
You should of course play the game to the end, then it will start a new game by default. (That is, as long as all players keep clicking "OK" in every dialog window, and don't cancel the sequence.)
When playing online, there is one player that had to choose the game that you are playing. That player can start a new game before it's finished.

  7. I don't have Windows but I like the game. Is there a version for Macintosh / Linux / Palm / etc?
I'm sorry, no there isn't. But remember that for some systems there are Windows emulators available, so you could try and run Rummi in such an emulator.
