City Magnate 1.0 - User Guide and FAQScreenshots - More DetailsGuide The City Magnate is an economic strategy game where you are to compete for the right to be recognized as the most influential person of the city. To become the city magnate, you are to purchase stores to generate revenues from them. The winner of the game will be the only player left in the game that is not bankrupt. BUYING STORES Owning a store entitles you to collect rent from other players who land on that space. It is an advantage to own all the stores within a color-group. You can upgrade your stores to increase your income. There are small icons on the game control board. Each icon stands for all of the stores within one color group. When you buy a store, a number appears below the icon to show how many stores of this color group you're purchased. If the figure is red, a store of the color group has been mortgaged. When you purchase a store, the edge of the game board opposite the store will be marked by the color of its owner. MANAGING STORES In this menu section, you can find useful information about stores and sell, exchange or upgrade your properties. EXCHAGING STORES If you want to exchange your store with other players, press the Exchange Stores button on the game control board. Your store is positioned on the left side of the exchange window. Other players' stores are to the right. Use the right and left buttons to view their stores. An icon below each store indicates to what color-group this store belongs. An icon in the upper-right corner of the window shows who of the rival players owns the store. MORTGAGES If you don't have enough money (i.e. a negative amount of money is displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen), you can raise money by mortgaging a store. If you do this, a red mark will appear above the store to indicate it has been mortgaged. You are declared bankrupt if you owe more than you can pay and cannot raise cash by mortgaging or selling property. UPGRADING STORES If you own all properties within a color-group, you can upgrade your stores to increase your income. SELLING STORES If you don't have enough money (i.e. a negative amount of money is displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen), you can raise money by selling a store. You are declared bankrupt if you owe more than you can pay and cannot raise cash by selling or mortgaging property. COCKROACH RACES Place your bet on a cockroach! If you win, your bet will be multiplied by four. RULETTE To play roulette, you place your bet on Red/Black, High/Low. If you win, your bet will be multiplied by two. When the outcome is zero, your bet will be multiplied by 13. ONE-ARMED BANDIT To play the One-armed Bandit slot machine, you must pay $500. If three identical symbols appear in the windows, you will get $2000, $5000 or $9000. Seven is wild and substitutes for any symbol. MAFIA When you land on the Mafia space, you must pay 10% of all your cash. The amount of money you have is indicated in the bottom-right corner of the screen. LOTTORY When you land on this space, you can win or lose a certain amount of money. HOSPITAL When you land on the hospital's space, you must stay there for one turn. Screenshots - More Details |
