1. What are the basic steps to cracking into, and stealing money from, a server?
   
   Step 1 - Finding A Target
   The first step is to find a target. This is usually done on the news or hacker server. Click on 'advanced' and select 'News Server'. You can view these items to find IP Addresses of targets.
   
   Step 2 - Adding to your Quick list
   you need to add the target from the news server to your data list. To do this Simply double click on the IP Address in the news viewer. (First, double click on the news item to view its full text)
   
   Step 3 - Cracking the Password
   Open 'Password Cracker' from the 'basic' tools menu. Click the white arrow next to the input box to scroll through your quick list, until you get to the IP Address. Now try to crack the password. Always watch the tracer -- if it gets too close to zero, you should disconnect, or risk losing everything.
   
   Step 4 - Connecting, Transferring Money
   Use the connect tool, login with the password, transfer the money to your account number (your account number is 131072, as shown down the bottom of the screen), And disconnect. Remember - watch out for being traced!
   
   
2. Can you tell me about the BASIC tools?
   
   What follows is a short description of each tool available from this menu.
   
   Basic Lookup - This tool will give you basic information about a server in the game.
   Dark Market - Here you can sell the files you steal for even more profit!
   File Ripper - When you are connected to a server, use this tool to steal any files that exist on the server.
   Hardware - Upgrade your hardware levels.
   Pass Cracker - Perhaps the most important tool in the game, you can use this tool to find and crack passwords.
   Software - You don't start with all the tools! Some have to be purchased here, so if you can't find them, this is where to go.s
   
   
3. Can you tell me about the ADVANCED tools?
   
   This menu contains tools to connect to the News, Hacker and Chat servers, as well as an IP Lookup and Proxy tool. Here is a short description of each.
   
   Hacker / Chat Servers - These are usually used to find targets, or computers, you want to crack into. Open the news server, for example, and double click on an item. Then search for any reference to another computer, such as an IP address. (E.g 124.43.2.35 [an IP address consists of 4 blocks of numbers, these are used to represent computers on the internet, in real life - and Hacker 2004). Double click on an IP address in the news or hacker servers and it will be instantly added to your 'Quick List'. This list simply allows you to quickly access IP address, to save you retyping or memorizing long numbers. Your quick list is displayed also just to the left of the tracing column.
   
   IP Lookup - Enter an IP address into this tool and it will give you all sorts of useful information! This is similar to the basic lookup, however it shows more information!
   
   Auto Proxy - These tools will make it harder and take longer for you to be traced, giving you more time to steal money and/or files.
   
   
4. How can I actually connect to a server in the game?
   
   To connect to a server in the game, click on the blue 'CONNECT' button near the bottom of the menu. This will open the connect tool. All you need to do is enter an IP address.
   
   
5. How can I make full use of the QuickList?
   
   In the news and hacker servers you can automatically add IP addresses to the quick list simply by double clicking on them. Now, when a tool asks you for a server IP address of hostname, you will notice a white arrow on either side of the input box. All you have to do is click these arrows and it will automatically scroll through your quick list, making it faster than ever.
   
   The quick list can also be used for storing passwords and other data. If you save, quit, and reload the game later, the data will still be saved in the quick list. To remove items from the quick list, simply select the item you wish to remove and click 'Delete'.
   
   
6. What is this Elite Agents section on the website?
   
   Once you reach a certain status in the game, you will gain access to the elite agents section on the website. Here you can download exclusive tools and some cheats, as well as another free old style hacking game written by our affiliate company.
   
   
7. What are the system requirements for Hacker 2004?
   
   Recommended as a minimum is Windows 98 or newer, 233Mhz CPU Speed, 100MB of free Hard Disk Space, Compatible Sound Card, and 64MB of memory. Note some people experience a problem playing the game on Windows XP systems, however this is only in rare cases, most reports are the game runs fine.
   
   
8. Can I upgrade my tools?
   
   Yes, absolutely. Software and hardware upgrades are readily available from the 'basic' menu.
