Creating your first title

To create a new title, click File: New, or press Ctrl+N. Ulead COOL 3D opens a new window in the workspace, with default settings.
Insert text by clicking Edit: Insert Text or by clicking on the Standard Toolbar. The Ulead COOL 3D Text dialog box opens, allowing you to type in your text and specify the font attributes, including the font, size, and style (bold, italic normal). To edit your text, simply click Edit: Edit Text or click on the Standard Toolbar. The current window updates to display your text.

You can adjust the spacing between the characters or the lines and spin your text. Ulead COOL 3D will give your text maximum impact. It contains a number of preset 3D styles that you can drag to the current window to apply to your text. To view them, click Object Style in the EasyPalette. There are a huge collection of galleries with preset styles and attributes. To create a custom effect, use the Attribute Toolbar.

Click Light & Color on the EasyPalette to apply one of the preset styles to your text, or create a custom style by changing the settings on the Attribute Toolbar.

Use the Hue, Saturation and Brightness sliders to adjust these values in your text.

  1. Q: Why does the rendering speed become so slow whenever I created a video file?
    A: Normally, the slow rendering situation may be related to following reasons:
    • The rendering speed will slow when Use Cache View in first run.
    • The rendering speed will slow when create Metaball.
    • The rendering speed will slow when apply textures to Geometric Shapes.
    You may try the following suggestions to improve the rendering speed:
    1. Check Use HAL Rendering to speed rendering.
    2. Uncheck "Texture Emboss" to speed rendering when use textures.
    3. Adjust Object Quality to Draft to speed rendering.


  2. Q: How can I change the dimension of an image created by Ulead COOL 3D?
    A: The dimensions of images created by Ulead COOL 3D are determined by the actual window size of the project. To make the image larger or smaller, click Image: Dimensions to open the Image Dimensions dialog box where you can specify the exact dimensions for the title either in inches, cm, or pixels. Click Window: Fit To Image to make your working window the same size as your image.

  3. Q: I created a title in Ulead COOL 3D and saved it as a JPEG file. However, it will not open in other applications I have in my system.
    A: You may have saved the image in Progressive JPEG format. By default, Ulead COOL 3D saves the JPEG files in progressive mode. However, you cannot open these images using applications that do not support this mode. To create an image that will be compatible with all JPEG browsers and applications, save them using the standard mode by clearing the "progressive JPEG" check box under the Save As: JPEG File dialog box.
