Scanning For Icons In Files
  • FindAll----press this button and relax. Icon Catcher will automatically scan all your disks for icons in files. Note: This process may take some time and can be RAM consuming if you have too many files containing icons. The average system should handle about 50000 icons with no problem.
  • Find in Folder----by pressing this button you will be prompted to select a folder for scanning. This function is suitable for a situation when you need to extract icons from files located in a specified directory. Note: The scanning dept may depend on Preferences settings
  • Find in File----is very similar to Find in Folder, but it prompts to select single file for extracting icons.
Saving Icons
Once you get some nice icons in the results window you may want to keep them for future usage in your documents or other applications. To do so, you need to save your icons.

First select one or multiple icons in Results window. Note: you can use Shift+MouseClick to select set of icons or use Ctrl+MouseClick to switch selection state of some single icons. Use both methods for more flexible selection.
Saving Icons Into Collection
If you need to save 1-5 icons it's good idea to save them as a separate .ico files. But if you wish to store hundreds or thousands of icons it can be too wasteful to create thousands of files. To help you manage large number of icons the Icon Catcher has special function to combine and store icons into Collections. The icons stored in Collections can be re-used from any Windows applications, documents, shortcuts, etc. Furthermore collections help to save your disk space and to organize your icons in more pleasant way.
