How to use Top Screen Saver Builder

  1. Click on the General button and enter any name you like in the Screensaver Name box. Other values such as the Author Name, Email Address, Website and Copyright Notice are disabled in the evaluation copy.

  2. Next, proceed to the Add Pictures page. Click on the Add button to add your pictures. You can add any number of pictures you want.

  3. Now go on the the Add Music. Over here, you can add backgroud music to your screen saver. Click on the add button to add the type of musice you want.

  4. Assuming you are just starting to build your first screen saver, we will just skip the settings page. If you need more explainations of the options available, please jump to the Settings in the Menu Descriptions.

  5. Lastly, you can choose the transitions effects between pictures you want. Check on the name of the effects you want or just check all to give eye-pleasing variety to your screen saver.

  6. Click the Preview button if you want to have a preview of your newly built screen saver or click on the Build button if you to build or make distributable self installing executable file.

    Congratulations! You have just build your screen saver with Top Screensaver Builder.

Screen Saver Files


There are two types of files that you can create with Top Screensaver Builder. The two types of files are explained below:

1. SCR file.

This is the standard windows Standard screen saver files. When you choose to build this file, the output file will have an extension of scr. For example myssaver.scr. You will have to manually copy the scr files to the windows system folder to add them to your windows screen saver collection. In Windows XP, 2000 or NT this system folder is located in Windows\system32. As for other version of windows, such as Windows 98 and ME, the system folder is located in Windows\system foloder.

2. Distributable self-installing file.

The file created will be an executable file. After you run this file, you have the choice to preview or install your screen saver. It simplifies the screen saver installation process. You can also distribute this file freely over the internet with the registered copy.
