Data handling

The Keyword field is mandatory. You have to enter a Keyword to save any data. Afterwards you can enter text into the Subject and Memo field. In the Memo field you can enter as much text as you like. The Keyword and Subject text fields are restricted to 50 and 75 characters, respectively.

When you want to add new data to PS Cardfile Pegasus, click on the new icon. This is the first icon on the left on the toolbar. And then to save your data click on the Save icon on the toolbar. You can enter as much data as you like by repeating the process. Afterwards, when you want to view your data, click on the tab of your choice. The data edit frame will disappear and a grid listing your data will appear. To delete any data, click on the delete button. Any data to be deleted has to be data that has been saved to the database.

At the bottom of the Window is the status bar. Here you can see if your data has been saved, or what type of mode PS CardFile Pegasus is currently in.

Database Backup

You can backup your database by clicking on the menu "Tools/Backup Pegasus database".

A default name is given, and the target directory is the application path. You can change the directory to one of your choosing. Click OK and CardFile Pegasus will make a copy of your database into the directory you have chosen.

To recover your data, find the database you have backed up. Change the name to pscardfile.mdb. Then copy this database into the directory where PS CardFile Pegasus is located. If there is a database present it will be overwritten without being asked. And make sure the program is not running before you recover your data.

    This program can run on Windows98/NT/ME/Windows2000 and WindowsXP.


  2. How use Cardfile Pegasus to import datas?

    To Import your data, place the Pegasus.txt file in the PS CardFile Pegasus directory. When you click on the 'Data Transfer - Data Import' menu, if your data import is successful it will appear as in the picture above.

    PS CardFile Pegasus firsts places the data into the grid for you to review. If everything is correct, you can then click on the Save button to save your data to the database. Afterwards you will be asked if you wish to delete your imported file. This is to make sure you do not import it again, or leave it on your disk for prying eyes.
