How to use Grab It!

  1. From Excel 97, 2000, or XP, Use the File menu, then load "Grab It!.xls" from the location that you installed it to.

  2. Load your picture into Grab It! by clicking on the "Load Picture" button.

  3. Choose the type of data to retrieve.

  4. Follow the instructions in Cell B1 to calibrate Grab It!

  5. Format your output as desired.

  6. Click directly on your data points.

  7. Data can be cleared after saving and a new picture loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions - Grab It!

  1. Does Grab It handle a tilted graph (i.e. not scanned in straight)?
    YES. This is automatically incorporated into the data grabbing process. No re-alignment, or measurements of tilt are needed. Grab It! performs all of the calculations as you click.

  2. Is there a Macintosh version of Grab It?
    No. Grab It functions by using Active X controls that are currently only available in Microsoft Excel 97 for pc's. MS Excel 98 for Macintosh does not support these controls.

  3. How can I increase the accuracy of my data grabbing?
    There are two ways. The best is to increase the resolution of the image. The next is to increase the zoom in MS Excel itself.
