optName - User Guide and FAQ

Screenshots - More Details

Quite often our site visitors ask us about the meanings of names not represented in optName. Of course we take note of such names. Unfortunately, as is usually the case, we have little opportunity to give everyone a timely reply. After all, every name has its own history, one that is sometimes contradictory and intricate. It is extremely interesting and absorbing to find and trace this history back to its origin. This takes quite a lot of time, however. All of the information about the names currently available to us can be found in the optName program and on our web site, optName.com. Watch for updates, for sooner or later the name you抳e been asking about will find its place in optName.

Q: Do you plan to publish a similar directory of surnames?
A: I believe that the multitude of first names is so vast that it will take quite a while to exhaust it, if ever.

Q: Do you plan to extend the list of names represented in the program?
A: Sure (Please note that registered users will get the new versions of optName free of charge).

Q: What does "number of the name" mean?
A: Please refer to our overview of numerology.

Q: Interpretation of my name抯 number is not accurate, why?
A: Please do not take the interpretation literally. Every person is multi-faceted and unique.
