Frequently Asked Questions - Duplicates Remover for Outlook

  1. Does the work of your add-ins trigger the security system?
All our add-ins were developed to take into account the security system of Microsoft Outlook and none of them will trigger Microsoft Outlook's security system. So you will NOT see any messages like "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses stored in Outlook" or "A program is trying to send a message from your name".

But you should keep in mind that Microsoft modifies its security system from version to version. For example, the security system in some versions of Microsoft Outlook warned the user even when an add-in only tried to get the date of a message. So it is possible that warnings will appear after you update Microsoft Outlook or install a patch. Usually, we get these updates automatically and release new versions of our products within several days. But it is worth mentioning that no such incidents occurred in 2004 or in the first half of 2005.

If you want to get additional information about the security system of Microsoft Outlook or to investigate why there are warnings being displayed (unfortunately, Microsoft Outlook does not give the name of the program that triggered its security system), you can use our free product Advanced Security for Outlook. The help system of this product contains exhaustive information about the security system.

  2. Is there a way to be rewarded either by the individual visitor being redirected to your web site or per download completed using a download link on our web site?
There is at the current time such a program available. If it is determined that there is a need for such cooperation, it is possible to create specialized software distribution packages containing your partner code in every registration link. This way, you are rewarded each time your visitor downloads the program and subsequently registers it. Contact us to discuss the details.

  3. Who provides the technical support to end users who purchase your software via the Partner or Affiliate programs?
Technical support is provided by our own company specialists. However, if you have the ability to provide better technical support service to our customers (e.g. in your country's native language, via telephone, or locally) this could be compensated for by changes made to your reseller status.

  4. We would like to distribute the trial versions of your products as part of our own software solution. Is an agreement required between us prior to such a distribution?
Our products may be freely distributed without any additional permission, providing the original installation package (.ZIP-archive, installation .EXE or .MSI) is left unchanged. Otherwise, please contact us.

  5. How do I configure Microsoft Outlook 2000 for workgroups?
Note that for our products to be able to work with Microsoft Outlook 2000, the latter must be configured for corporate mail or workgroups (this configuration allows you to use SMTP/POP3 mail as the main or only one). You can find out your current configuration in the Microsoft Outlook About dialogue box.

If Microsoft Outlook is currently in the Internet mail mode (IMO), you should switch to the corporate mode:
Select Options in the Tools menu.
Select the Mail Services tab in the dialogue box.
Click the Reconfigure mail support button.
Select the Corporate or Workgroups mode and follow the instructions of the wizard.
You may be asked to insert the installation CD of Outlook or Office during the reconfiguration.

  6. Will I get the next version of your add-in if I am a registered user?
For a year after you purchase our software product, you get all its new versions absolutely free of charge. This policy applies to all our products. You can get additional information related to this question from the license agreement for any particular product.

  7. Will I get the next version of your add-in if I am a registered user?
For a year after you purchase our software product, you get all its new versions absolutely free of charge. This policy applies to all our products. You can get additional information related to this question from the license agreement for any particular product.

  8. How do I uninstall your add-in?
    Close Microsoft Outlook.
Open the "Control Panel" in the "Start" menu and start the "Add and Remove Programs" applet.
Find the necessary add-in in the list of programs installed on the computer, select it and click the "Remove" button.
Follow the instructions of the installation wizard. It will help you remove the product from your computer.
