Frequently Asked Questions - NetDog Porn Filter

  1. How can I run NetDog?

You don't have to do anything after you install NetDog Porn Filter. NetDog uses special technology to embed itself into windows operation system, so you won't find any Netdog process running on your computer. But NetDog will block all pornographic material automatically. It not only works with different browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox but also it works with other Internet program (e.g. MSN). After installing Netdog, you just visit "playboy.com" and other porn sites to test. If you are not able to visit them, that shows your Netdog is working now. If you want to change filtering settings, you can always use NetDogadmin to do it.

  2. If NetDog blocked the Web Site I want to visit, How to do?

Just login into NetDogAdmin, and uncheck the choice "Use Intelligent Pornographic Contents Filtering Engine". If still can't visit that site, please make sure that site url is not in the "Always Blocked Web Sites" url list.

  3. How to Remove NetDog?

After Installed NetDog you will see unwise.exe. If you want to remove Netdog from your computer, just run unwise.exe. Don't delete NetDog files or there may cause any problems. Run unwise.exe to Uninstall netdog!

  4. If I want to block all web sites, and want to let the computer user only can visit some special allowed sites, how to do?

Please check the choice "Block All, Only Can Visit Great Web Sites" in NetDogAdmin, and add your allowed sites to "Great Web Sites" url list.

  5. What's the "Import" and "Export" in the NetDogAdmin web sites setting?

"Import" is the function which you can use it to import url (or keywords contained in url) library file to NetDog.
"Export" is the function which you can use it to save the url (or keywords contained in url) to a library file.

  6. How can I add the site which I want to block?

Just click the button "Add" in NetDogAdmin, you can add the site to block like: jfdsaunfda.com, ( no "http://" prefix ). Or to add word like "sex" ,that stands for all urls which contained the word "sex". Also you can use wildcard characters '?' and '*' in url, for example: "s?x*.com".

  7. Why not add password protection when uninstall NetDog program?

It's easy to do this, but we don't think it's an efficient method to stop someone removing NetDog from computer. Because anyone may destroy NetDog program by deleting some of its files,no software can avoid being destroy. We suggest users to add password to NetDogAdmin, and then if someday you can't login into NetDogAdmin, we know that someone's trying to destroy NetDog on this computer.

  8. My operation system is winxp with sp2, Can NetDog be used under non-administrator privilege account?

Like many anti virus softwares, NetDog can only work under administrator privilege account. So you cann't login into non-administrator account to use NetDog which has been installed under administrator in winxp operation system.
