Frequently Asked Questions - Easy Web Leech

  1. Why does the application only download 5 files from each of the web pages that I have listed?
You are using the evaluation copy of Easy Web Leech. To verify this, click on the "About" button to open the about window. This window will show which version you are using and whether or not you have registered your copy of the Easy Web Leech application. The evaluation copy is fully functional with the exception that the maximum number of downloads is limited to the first 5 files found on each web page.

  2. Where did the application save the downloaded files to?
The files were downloaded into the folder that you specified in the Save to Folder text field. You can double-click on this text field to view the downloaded files.

  3. Why are files being downloaded that do not meet the minimum file size requirements that I specified?
Files are first downloaded before their file sizes can be determined. If they do not meet the minimum file size requirements, they will be deleted and the Total Files/Kbytes Skipped indicator will increment.

  4. Why are there less files on my hard drive than what the application has downloaded?
The web pages that you downloaded files from had duplicate file names. Duplicate file names will be overwritten without alerting you. Turn on the Date/Time Stamp option to avoid duplicate file names from being overwritten. A date and time value will precede the actual file name that has been downloaded.

  5. Why does the application state a smaller count of pages than what I entered in the web page list?
The application ignores blank lines and duplicate web page entries.

  6. Why do my download file names have a number preceding it?
You are running multiple instances of the application. To avoid duplicate file names from being overwritten, the application will stamp the file name with a unique key value. The first instance of the application will not generate a unique key value -- only the additional instances require a unique key.

  7. Why are there more web pages in my list than the last time I started the application?
When you exit the application, your web page list is saved to a temporary file so that the web pages will be available the next time you start the application. If you exited from multiple instances of the application, the web pages listed in each instance of your application will be appended to the temporary file previously mentioned.

  8. Why didn't the application download files that I know are on the web pages that I listed?
This problem can occur because of a few reasons. If the web pages that you are downloading from uses frames, you will need to specify the web page name of the frame that you are trying to download from. Use your web browser and right-click on the frame's web page to select the properties window. This window will display the actual web page name.
