Aid Backup Master 2.35 - User Guide and FAQ

Screenshots - More Details

Backup is a one-click procedure. All you have to do is to create or select a file list and enter a filename for a backup file. Also you can define Autobackup and Autoseek preferences. Click on the Backup button and the backup window will appear.

Here goes a short description of each window:

FILE LIST TO BACKUP
Here you can create or select a file list to backup. You can control the file lists using Create List, Delete List and Edit List buttons. If you wish to edit a file list click on the Edit List button.

PATH AND NAME OF BACKUP FILE
Here you can enter a file folder and a file name or use the standard Windows dialog to do this.

AUTOBACKUP PREFERENCES
Here you can configure Autobackup preferences for a backup file you are going to create.

Use selected file list as default for Autobackup
If checked then the currently selected file list will be used for Autobackup in future. If unchecked then the Autobackup file list will not be changed.

Enable Autoseek
It turns the Autoseek feature on/off.

Store [X] last document copies
Using this preference you can set the quantity of stored copies for a file. All excessive copies will be deleted automatically. This may be useful for you to control the backup file size.

Backup File Management:

VIEW TEXT FILES
To view a text file select it in the list and click on the View Text button. Aid Backup Master will open the selected file in the Aid Backup Master Text Viewer. Remember that the internal file viewer can be used with plain text files only.

VIEW FILE
To view a file select it in the list and click on the View button. Aid Backup Master will call the application that opens the selected file.

DELETE FILE
To delete a file select it in the list and click on the Delete button. To delete multiple files mark them using the mouse or the keyboard and click on the Delete button.

DELETE OLD FILE COPIES
If you wish to clean the selected backup file of old copies click on the Delete Old button. Aid Backup Master will scan the backup file for old file copies and delete them all (leaving the last versions of course).
