Rules of system manipulation

To get the best results with Aid System Restorer, you have to remember the following simple rules:
  1. Store and restore system state as the same user. This means that you have to enter Windows using the same profile when storing and restoring system state (It is recommended to enter Windows as a null user, without any password).
  2. Restart your computer before starting Store or Restore procedures.
  3. Close all active applications:
    a) Visible applications;
    b) System tray applications;
    c) Background applications using (CTRL+ALT+DEL) key combination (FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY).
  4. Do not interrupt Store or Restore procedures or this may result the incorrect procedure completion.
Files

Using checkboxes select groups of files you want to store.
  • Main Windows files
    These are basic files Windows consists of. It is necessary to store them all.
  • Additional Windows files
    Storing this group will allow you to restore a system state after critical damages.
  • Main files of installed programs and Additional files of installed programs
    These files contain information about configurations of installed programs. Storing them will help you to restore a state of installed software.

    Also you can use one of two preset storage methods:
  • Full Windows Storage method
    It stores all Windows files without exception.
  • Full Hard Drive Storage method
    It stores all hard drive files without exception. You can configure this method to store multiple hard drives, press the Configure button to do so.
Both methods are extremely effective in case of fatal Windows crash, hard drive crash and any other disaster.

Path

Enter a filename of and the full path to a system state archive you want to store. Use the Browse button to enter the filename using the standard Windows dialog.
