While Pro version is by default opened to Diary, or Quick Notes by keyboard shortcuts, LITE version opens the Cover page Tab first. This page usually contains information about currently selected image set (on Images tab).

Use sliders to set background transparency, notes transparency, define colors for virtually any part of calendar.
From the menu (right side), select layout to be used to display calendar and your notes on the desktop.
Browse through layouts to see which one fits your needs best, and play around with color and transparency settings to satisfy your personal preferences.
