AnyReader 1.8 - User Guide and FAQ

Screenshots - More Details

Choose program action

Select 'Copy files from a damaged drive' and click 'Next'.

Select the source files you wish to copy

Select destination and options

In this section you have to indicate the target folder where the processed files will be saved. Destination folder is the folder where the copied files will be placed. You can type in the name or click 'Browse' to select an existing folder.

Additional options are:
  • number of attempts to read possible bad sectors
  • duration of the pause between read attempts
Copy Mode can also be defined here. There are two ways to copy data from bad sectors:
  1. Fill bad sectors with zeroes. This option is recommended for multimedia files.
  2. Copy the bad sectors as they are. AnyReader will try to read the data as many times as you indicate. This method is more appropriate for text and document files.
Copying files

This step can take quite some time. This depends on the total size of the files and the severity of damage sustained by the drive.

Finish

Click 'Explore copied files' to view the copied files in Windows Explorer.
