The windows interface is less "wizard-driven" and gives you more possibilities. To wipe a whole partition or a whole hard disk, select the object and then select Wipe partition or wipe hard disk. To wipe only the free space of a partition, select the object and then select "clear free space". To manually (visually) verify result of the operation, select the object and then select "clear free space" in context menu.
