How to stop USB device

Using program Main Dialog window

Use this method if you want to see USB device(s) details before stop it.
  • Open program main window (or start program from Start menu)
  • Choose the USB device(s) to stop
  • Press the Stop(Ctrl+S), Stop all(Ctrl+L) button or just make double mouse click
  • Stopping Centre window will appear
  • If you see green clock then Unplug USB device(s) from the computer
  • If you see red clock then make sure that there are no open files on USB device. Repeat operation
Using program tray icon Popup menu

Use this method if you want to see the Device Location information of USB device(s) before you will stop it.

Note: Tray icon is a small icon of the program located near system clock.
  • Do the click with right mouse button on the tray icon
  • Choose the USB device to stop
  • Wait for notifications about successfully stop
  • Unplug USB device(s) from the computer
Using another methods

Use hotkeys if you want to stop USB device(s) quickly.

How to use hotkeys

Keyboard shortcuts allows you to stop any USB device without using a mouse. That is an most usable and quickly way to stop USB device(s).

Note: Hotkeys ususally consisted of two parts: modifier key and main key. Example: "Ctrl+S". In this case, "Ctrl" is a modifier key and the "S" is the main key. Remember, that modifier keys can be complexed, like that "Ctrl+Alt".

First of all let's configure hotkeys.
  • Open program main window (or start program from Start menu)
  • Choose the USB device to define hotkey
  • Press the Edit(Ctr+E) button
  • In Properties window choose hotkey type
  • Choose modifier key and the main key
  • Press OK to close the window
Now you can try your new hotkey. Make sure that there are no open files on USB device. Press modifier key and then press main key. The USB device will be stopped.

Note: Safely Remove hotkeys works in any program. That mean, that if you create "Ctrl+O" hotkey, it will be working all time in any program.

Note: The best way to prevent hotkey conflict is using complex modifier key, like "Ctrl+Alt"

How to hide Stopping Centre window

To hide Stopping Centre window click the Close button or just hit Escape button on your keyboard.

Note: Stopping Centre window always appear when you try to stop USB device. So if you enable notifications feature, then Main Dialog window will cover Stopping Centre after USB device Stop.
