Using Card Export

Make sure that Card Gate Desktop Driver (Card Export PC Driver) and Card Export for handheld are properly installed.

To mount your flash card as a logical disk connect your Palm device to PC and launch Card Export application on your handheld (by default Card Export is installed to System Category.)

  1. Insert flash card into SD/MMC slot on Palm powered device.
  2. Press "Connect to Desktop" button to make cards available for external user like Desktop computer.
  3. After a few seconds Windows should recognize Card's filesystem and mount a disk.
You can check that the new disk has been correctly mounted with the Device Manager.



Frequently Asked Questions - Softick Card Export II

  1. My windows explorer does not show card. The device manager shows the usb connection is ok and the device working properly.
    It looks like a drive letter conflict. To resolve: 1. Connect Card Export II first 2. Please open Computer Management console (Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administative Tools -> Computer Management) 3. Select "Disk Management". 4. Select Card Export II exported card at the right pane 5. Right mouse click and select "Change Drive Letter and Path". 6. Assign unused drive letter for the Card Export device.

  2. I'm using Tapwave Zodiac 2 with Card Exoport II v. 2.02 but when I try to connect to my PC I got Error code 10 (Cannot start device) in Windows Device Manager. How can I make Card Export works?
    This is known problem in Softick Card Export II v 2.02 on Tapwave Zodiac with 1.1 ROM Update. It was fixed in Softick Card Export II v. 2.03. Please download newer version.

  3. I'm trying Softick Card Export II on Linux but accessing files are quite slow. Can I speed up access?
    Yes, you can. Try to mount Card Export volume with noatime option. This would disable inode atime update and serious speed up files transfer.
