Frequently Asked Questions - Registry Mechanic

  1. Why do we use Registry Mechanic?
The Windows Registry is a database used to store important settings and options for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP. Windows operating systems cannot operate without it! The Registry contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of your computer and operating system.

Whenever a user makes changes to Control Panel settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in the Registry. Running an application on your computer can make several changes to your Registry. And days later, you will find your Registry full of nagging files and we need a tool to manage Registry now. Registry Mechanic is the right one for this job.

  2. Is Registry Mechanic targeted at novice or advanced users?
Registry Mechanic is designed for novice users; however, this product has more advanced features.
On the Restore registry backup screen, select the check boxes next to the backups you want to restore.
