Compression:

Caution! This is a dangerous function, please make sure that you backup all-important documents in your compute, we also recommend you create a registry file by using "BACKUP" function.

Compression: Reset registry, it is the method to compress the current registry size. Smaller registry consumes less system resources. It helps rise up the system performance.
The obvious performance of registry compression is the distinct reduction of registry file size. This is the unique character brought by Super rabbit. Theoretically, the fewer registries are, the more stable system operation is, and the higher speed for computer.

The size of the current registry file will be shown on the main menu, if you feel about it is too large, you may click "compress" button below. Please watch out the light of your hard disk. The time needed for compression depends on the size of your registry file, computer's speed, etc. It is normally 1-5 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions - Super Rabbit Registry Optimizer

  1. What is "tweak"?
It is a way of tuning Windows9x/Me/2000 settings to fit your need. It is very hard to tweak any of Windows 9x/Me/2000 settings by using regedit.exe that comes with the OP, and it's also very easy to make mistakes in doing so. It's much easier and faster to tweak with "Magic Set".

  2. How come I can't see the effect of tweaking?
After you've chosen which option(s) to tweak, you have to press the "save" button. Otherwise the change won't take place. Also, most effect will only take place after you have restarted Windows 9x. I'll teach you a trick here, press Crtl+Alt+Del, click on "Explorer" when a window appear, please notice that this "Explorer" isn't the file manage one, then click on "End Task" choose "NO" when they ask you whether you want to shut down or not, wait for 10 seconds, a window appear and it asks you whether you want to end task or not, choose yes this time. The screen will flash once; this method is faster than restarting your computer.

  3. How large the size of registry should be for compression?
The long the Windows 98/Me exists, the more software installed, the size of the registry file will be. Usually, the newly installed Windows 2000/XP registry file is 3MB or so, 4MB after use, and medium is 5-8M, however, it is not absolute. Compression recommendation for you is 5MB. The registry of Windows 2000/XP usually is small below 12MB, medium below 25MB, big for up than 25.

  4. What is the difference between registry compression and registry scan?
The most obvious difference is that the registry file got condensed distinctly after the use of registry compression. The computer runs in faster speed. No evident results got though the use of registry scan which is the function for dustbin clearance.

  5. What kind of effect could be got by registry compression?
Your registry file content had been rearranged when you use registry compression. Just like the effect got through defragment on hard disk. The registry defragment has the same effect.

We have test a computer with Windows 98. The registry file compensated 500KB while the system start speed and software run speed raised 11% after compression with the hardware unchanged. Theoretically, the super rabbit registry compression function can condense your registry file 5-30%, prove your system speed 5-20%.

  6. How long time distance for registry compression?
We recommend you to have registry compression every three months. Too short distance would lead it invalid. The size of the registry file would be enlarged when you had two compressions in one minute.
