Main Window

Percentage of Processor Boost

This is a graphical representation in percentage of the current amount/priority of CPU/Processor allocated to the active application. The thin WHITE line represents the amount/priority of CPU/Processor currently assigned in percentage to the active application. Clicking with your mouse on this Scope control will allow you to customize its appearance and behavior.

Percentage of Processor Boost

The control "HIGH - Application priority setting" determines if PcThrust will set the application's priority to HIGH. If this option is selected the currently active application will be boosted to perform all operations faster then normal operations.

The control REALTIME Application priority setting (caution) determines if PcThrust will set the application's priority to REALTIME. If this option is selected the currently active application will use ALL CPU/Processor power to perform all operations at a critical state. Please however use this option carefully, as this can slow down the computer and in certain situations cause the computer to completely freeze and stop responding!

Other Options

The control "Run determines at Windows startup" determines if PcThrust will automatically launch at Windows startup. If this checkbox is unchecked then PcThrust will not launch at Windows startup, if the checkbox is checked then PcThrust will launch automatically at Windows startup. By default, this option is checked.

The control "Display the animated system-tray icon always" determines if PcThrust will display the animated tray icon always or not. If this checkbox is unchecked, then PcThrust will not animate the system-tray icon, if the checkbox is checked, then PcThrust will show the animated system-tray icon always. This has no effect on the program other because it's visual appearance. By default, this option is checked.

Restore Defaults

The control "Defaults" will restore all default options/settings to original factory settings. This is useful incase you have modified the PcThrust settings and problems arise.

Frequently Asked Questions - PCThrust

  1. Do applications boosted by PcThrust return to normal after I select another application?
    Yes, when you select an application PcThrust will either set the application's priority to either HIGH or REALTIME. When you select another program, the first application will return the application's priority back to NORMAL. This is done so only the currently active application is using the most CPU power.

  2. Why does PcThrust close every 60 minutes?
    PcThrust closes every 60 minutes to remind you to register the software. It is distinguish the demo version from the full version. When you register PcThrust there will be no 60 minute time restrictions.

  3. I have noticed that when I start PcThrust it attempts to access my internet connection, why is this?
    Unfortunately, there are many users of our software previously which have chosen to pirate software rather then pay the very small license fee. For this reason, PcThrust will attempt to verify the Name/Serial each time the software is started. No other personal information other then the Name/Serial, and computer IP Address is transmitted over the internet.
