How to copy/backup DVD movie directly from a DVD disk (DVD9 or DVD5 movie disk)?
  1. Insert source DVD disk (DVD9 or DVD5) to DVD read device (DVD Rom).
  2. Run 007 DVD Copy, it detects the source disc automatically.
  3. Choose the source DVD option to [DVD Source Disk].
  4. Choose the target DVD option to the [DVD Writer], choose the DVD writer device.
  5. Choose [Copy to dual layer disk] only when using a dual layer blank DVD disk (DVD9 Disk). If you are using a single layer blank DVD disk (DVD5 Disk), please do NOT choose [Copy to dual layer disk].
  6. Set the [Temporary Working Folder], and make sure the hard disk has more than 4.7 GB(or 9GB when copy dual source disk) free space.
  7. Insert a blank DVD Disc (+R ,-R ,+RW,-RW) to the DVD writer device (If your source DVD and the Target DVD is the same device, do not worry about this. 007 DVD Copy will ask you to insert a blank disk before burning).
  8. Click the [Start] button, 007 DVD Copy will start to copy and burn. It will do all the rest work. Depends on the speed of your PC hardware, it may needs from 30 minutes to 2 hours, it is not a problem, because compress the video use a long time. You can have a coffee during this period.
How to burn a DVD disk with the DVD content already in your hard disk?
  1. Run 007 DVD Copy.
  2. Choose the source DVD option to [DVD Video Folder], choose the folder which contains the DVD video files.
  3. Set the target DVD option to the [DVD Writer], choose the DVD writer device.
  4. Insert a blank DVD Disc (+R ,-R ,+RW,-RW) to the DVD writer device.
  5. Click the [Start] button, 007 DVD Copy will start to burn. It will do all the rest work. Depends on the speed of your PC hardware, it may needs from 10 minutes to 20 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions - 007 DVD Copy

  1. What do I need to prepare before starting to backup my DVD?
    - Ensure the DVD to be copied is clean and not scratched.

    - Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs. Always refer to the DVD writer manufacturer for the list of recommended discs for your DVD writer drive.

    - Ensure your hard disk has enough space (4.3 GB at least).

    - If you are using external USB DVD drive, please make sure it is connected to the computer directly without using a USB hub.


  2. Message about missing DLL on software startup
    If you receive a message about a missing winaspi DLL please reinstall our software. If you receive a Winaspi error message, please install the Winaspi.

  3. It can't copy DVD to hard disk, why?
    In case, that the DVD cannot be recognized, start the DVDs with a software DVD player and play it for a couple of seconds. Now the DVD has been authorized and you can start the 007 DVD Copy. The DVD player software is not required to run during the copying process.

  4. Is there any software conflict with the operation of 007 DVD Copy?
    Some anti-virus software may cause errors while burning. If you experience problems while burning, you may need to disable the software temporarily.

  5. When you play the copied DVD, the image jerks from time to time, why?
    If you play the DVD and the image jerks from time to time, check if the disc is clean and eventually clean the disc.

  6. DVD cannot be played on Standalone Player (Hardware Player)?
    -Make sure you are using the right type of disc for your hardware player. Some players will only read one of the formats (+ or -) but both.

    -Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs. Always refer to the DVD writer manufacturer for the list of recommended discs for your DVD writer drive.

    -You may have to lower the burning speed. Many writers are not compatible with cheap blanks. The quality of some blanks is actually so bad, that the specified maximum speed cannot be reached. Find a combination of writer, disc and player that work together.


  7. Burning Problems
    -If the DVD is empty after the burning process, we suggest that you first, reject and re-insert DVD and check if it is really empty.

    -There also might be problem with the quality of the blank disc. Use another blank from another manufacturer or brand. Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs.


  8. The burning process aborted unexpectedly but the copy process successfully completed, do I need to start it all over again?
    No, the copy process actually stored the DVD files in [Temporary Working Folder] you specified. To burn those DVD files to the disk directly, please do as follows:

    1. Choose [DVD Video Folder] in [Source DVD] option.
    2. Set folder in [DVD Video Folder] as the same as folder in [Temporary Working Folder].
    3. Finally, click the [Start] button to start burning.
