How to use DVDXStudio

  1. To get started, simply download the installer to your desktop and double-click the DVDXStudio icon.

  2. Next, launch DVDXStudio and insert a DVD into your media drive. The program will say "Analyzing, please wait" as it reads the disc.

  3. The DVD title now appears in the dropdown menu under "Select Source". Use the check boxes to select or de-select subtitles and audio tracks.

  4. Once you have determined which subtitles and audiotracks you would like to keep, look at the right half of the screen under "Select Destination & Start Backup." If you have multiple media drives you can select to backup immediately to DVD-R media; otherwise, select a folder to backup files to, as well as a temporary folder.

  5. Once the operation is complete, you simply pop in a blank DVD-R disc, open your source from the folder you just backed up your files to, and click "Begin Backup!"

Frequently Asked Questions - DVDXStudio

  1. Q: What exactly is DVDXStudio?
A: DVDXStudio is an easy software tool that allows you to backup your DVD movies to DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R or DVD+RW.

  2. Q: Is DVDXStudio compatible with Macintosh?
A: DVDXStudio is NOT compatible with Macintosh systems at this time. Check back with us in the future.

  3. Q: Is copying a DVD legal?
A: You must check your local laws before making a backup copy. Different countries have different laws pertaining to this. We are in no way responsible for your use of DVDXStudio. By ordering DVDXStudio you agree not to break any law pertaining to DVD copying.

  4. Q: Will DVDXStudio work on encrypted DVDs?
A: Yes. Nearly all DVDs are encrypted with CSS (Content Scrambling System) and your DVD will have locked sectors denying you access unless it goes through an authentication process. DVDXStudio works around this and unlocks and authenticates your DVD.

  5. Q: Do you offer a demo version or a money back guarantee?
A: You may download a demo version by clicking here. We provide full support and can help with most technical issues. If you have met the minimum requirements to run DVDXStudio but still can not copy a DVD because of hardware issues we will offer a refund. A refund request must be made within 30 days of the date of the purchase.

  6. Q: Can DVD copies be played on a standard DVD Player?
A: DVD copies can be played on a standard DVD Player, provided the DVD Player supports burned copies. Refer to your DVD Player owners manual for more information.

  7. Q: Will my DVD backup retain the same quality and digital stereo that is on my DVD?
A: Yes. You copy will be exact in every way.

  8. Q: What is DivX?
A: DivX is a codename for the MPEG-4 compression technology developed by DivXNetworks, Inc. (aka Project Mayo). DivX is similar to VCD in it's video quality, but almost anyone will tell you it's not as good. This is basically because of the difference in resolution. All televisions display on a 640x480 resolution. Computer monitors are typically set to 800x600 and 1024x768. DivX is ideal for those who travel, or prefer the direct availability of DivX movies over the internet.
