If you had installed Flash DVD Ripper correctly, launched it successfully, well, now you can start your first time using, then follow the steps as the example "DVD to SVCD" that shown below:
  • Step 1, Click the "Open DVD..." button to open the DVD movie, Select the chapters then click [Select] button.
  • Step 2, Set the output format to SVCD by setting the radio button on the main screen.
  • Step 3, Click the button "..." from the "Save As" column to set a file name, the screen is shown below. The file may be ISO or BIN according to your choice.
  • Step 4, Click the button "Convert...", the "Output Parameters" screen is shown, then confiture the output parameters, you can set the output format as "PAL" or "NTSC", and select the "Language" and "Subtitle" as you like. If you want to convert all the chapters, set the radio button to "All Chapters" to rip entire file or just splitting by size or time. otherwise, please set it to "Select Chapters", then click the button "Select..." to enter the window for selecting chapters for converting as below, then click "Ok". ( if you feel it is difficult to set, you can also click "Default" to use the default setting to convert.), If you want to convert only a clip from the DVD, please set the radio to "Select a Clip", then click the button "Select...", you will see "Select by Start and End Point" screen, finish the setting then click the button "OK" to bring the start and end value to the parent window.
  • Step 6, After the above steps, click the button "OK", it will start converting, or click the button "Cancel" to cancel converting.

  1. How to convert DVD to VCD?
    • Step 1, Lauch Flash DVD Ripper.

    • Step 4, Click the button "..." from the "Save As" column to set a file name. The file's extension name should be ".AVI".
    • Step 5, Click the button "Convert...".
    • Step 6, If you want to convert all the chapters, set the radio button to "All Chapters", otherwise, please set it to "Select Chapters", then click the button "Select..." to enter the window for selecting chapters for converting.
    • Step 7, You must choose an appropriate video codec from the column "AVI Output Parameters". Step 8, After the above steps, click the button "Convert", it will start converting.


  4. How to convert DVD to MPEG?
    • Step 1, Lauch Flash DVD Ripper.
    • Step 2, Click the "Open DVD..." button to open the DVD movie.
    • Step 3, Set the output format to MPEG.
    • Step 4, Click the button "..." from the "Save As" column to set a file name. The file's extension name should be ".MPEG" or ".MPG".
    • Step 5, Click the button "Convert...".
    • Step 6, If you want to convert all the chapters, set the radio button to "All Chapters", otherwise, please set it to "Select Chapters", then click the button "Select..." to enter the window for selecting chapters for converting.
    • Step 7, You must choose the output MPEG format as MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.
    • Step 8, After the above steps, click the button "Convert", it will start converting.


  5. What's the ISO file?
    When converting DVD to VCD or SVCD, Flash DVD Ripper will save the converted file to ISO as default. Then you may burn the ISO file to an empty disc by your CD burning software like "Nero Burning" or "Roxio Easy CD Creator".



  6. How to convert the ISO to VCD/SVCD?
    The ISO file is an image of VCD or SVCD. You may use CD burning software like "Nero Burning" or "Roxio Easy CD Creator" to burn the ISO file to an empty disc.



  7. How to convert DVD to VCD/SVCD with a bin file?
    Besides ISO file, you may also set the output to BIN/CUE file when converting DVD to VCD or SVCD. You need only click the button "..." to save as "BIN/CUE". The result will include 2 files with extension ".bin" and ".cue". Some cd burning software will support burning BIN/CUE file as VCD/SVCD, but not all cd burning software supports it, this format is not as popular as ISO.
