Don't ask when overwrite existing files :Ask for a confirmation if the ouput file already exists.

Shutdown the computer after all jobs completed:Video conversion is really a long time job,with automatically shutdown feature,you can just go to sleep ,let your computer do all the jobs and automatically shutdown when all jobs completed.

Force 24Hz(Check this only the program request):Force input to be a 24Hz progressive NTSC.If you get the "too much samples" error during converting,check this button.

Video Codec :This option is enabled only if you select avi as output video format.You can select video codec in the listbox to encode avi video,X DVD Ripper will automatically set Divx as default video codec if Divx is found on your system.Divx is highly recommended to encode your DVD movies,please visit http://www.doease.com for more info.

Resolution :Determine the resolution of the target avi video,the higher resolution the bigger file size.

Deinterface : Use this when your image is interlaced (when 1 line / 2 is shifted) .If you cannot be sure which is the right selection, Just make a clip of some images to see if you're right. Interplate most often works.

Default output path:Select the output folder that all target files will be stored in.

Split Mode :Since the DVD file is often very large, the user can set how to split the large movie into several smaller piece, X DVD ripper will slpit large output file to output_filename.mpg( or .avi),output_filename_02.mpg(or .avi),output_filename_03.mpg(or .avi)and so on.

Default Output frame rate :The frame rate (fps) of the target video.

Default Audio Volume :The bigger number the higher volume.Gain of the audio output. The default give a good volume for most DVDs. Make few clip of the movie and adjust this value in order to get a good volume.

Audio/Video Synchronisation : Resynchronise video and audio periodicaly.select this only you needed.

4. What is an ASPI driver?
   An ASPI driver is required for DVD ripping. Windows 95 or 98 comes with the ASPI manager pre-installed, while NT does not. To tell if you have an ASPI manager installed, look for a file called WNASPI32.DLL in your Windows system directory (c:\windows\system or c:\winnt\system32 are common locations).If X DVD Ripper is unable to find the ASPI driver ,you can download a ASPI driver.
   
   
5. Can not read from XXXXX.vob,why?
   This problem is caused by the copy protection of your dvd disc.to unlock the dvd disc you can select "use aspi driver to access dvd driver" in the misc tag of settings dialog.please visit http://www.doease.com/dvdtodivx.htm for details. You can also use dvd player software to unlock,power dvd will do the job ,just play the DVD with PowerDVD and run x dvd ripper the "Can not read..." problem will go away.
