Adding a movie to the collection
Movie Collector catalogs your personal movie collection of DVDs, VHS tapes and Laserdiscs. Let's start by adding a movie to the catalog. Here's how to do that:
- Click the "Add Movie" button on the toolbar.
- If the program asks if you want to create a new collection, click Yes.
- You should now see the "Add Movie Wizard" screen. (if you see Add Movies (Advanced Mode) screen, click the Wizard Mode button)
- Follow the on screen step-by-step instructions, using the Next button to go the next step.
- On the last page of the wizard, click Finish to return to the main screen.
Congratulations! You've just added a movie. Repeat these steps to add another one.
Frequently Asked Questions - Movie Collector
- What is the difference between the Standard and Pro editions?
Standard only prints simple lists, no loan management, no export features.
Pro prints lists and other layouts (Inc user created templates), integrated loan manager, export to HTML, Text (CSV) and XML formats.
- Can I add a new infomation source myself?
Sorry, that is not possible. This is a technically complex operation requiring much more effort than only providing a URL of a website.
- I have added pictures to the movies in my database, but they are not shown in the main screen anymore. Why?
Most likely the images are stored in a different folder. Use Tools\Maintenance\Update Image Links to search for the right location for the cover images.
