1. When I open a video or audio file, I got a error "Failed to open the media file".

If the file you are trying to open is RealMedia(.rm, .rmvb) format, you should install RealOne Player. Download the free player from http://www.real.com.

If the file you are trying to open is QuickTime(.mov, .qt), you should install Quick Time Player.

If the audio or video file you are trying to open cannot be played in Windows Media Player, then it could be that there is no video codec on your PC. The other cause could be improper video codec are being installed on your PC. We have found that K-Lite Codec Pack is a good choice among the many codec packs available in the market. Download this free video codec pack from the link below:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm.

2. What about extracting DivX format's movie?
You should install Divx codec. Original DivX Video Codec can be downloaded from http://download.divx.com . Actually, K-Lite Codec Pack has DivX codec included in their package

3. Can I open the RealMedia(.rm, .rmvb) movie?
Yes, but you have to install Real One Player.The free version can be found at http://www.real.com.

4. Can I open the QuickTime(.mov, .qt) movie?
Again yes, but you need to install QuickTime Player.

5. I want to extract audio from my VCD movies. Can I do this?
Sure, just open your VCD and look for the VCD(.dat) files.

6. What about extracting audio from my DVD(.vob) files?
You can open your DVD and look for DVD(.vob) files. Please note that some DVD are encrypted and Top Video Sound Extractor may not be able to read these encrypted or protected DVD files.

7. When I open a file, Top Video Sound Extractor try to access the internet. Why is this?
It is not due to our program. It may be due to the Video Codec trying to access the internet to compare/or obtain some video data at their reference database. This is the same as Window Media Player trying to access the internet to obtain information for a video or audio file.

8. When I open a video file, the video display screen of Top Video Sound Extractor is empty - black(no movement). I can hear the sound but cannot see the video. Why is this?
Some video formats are not supported by our simple video player. You can still extract the video sound though.
