Inserting the animation into your web site

1) Save the SWF file
2) Copy and paste the HTML code
3) Other methods

Step 1: Save the SWF file

To save the SWF file simply click on the "Save" tab at the bottom of the screen (see picture below) and then click on the "Save SwF" button.

Now save the SwF file to the desired location on your harddisk This will preferable be the directory that contains your web site.

Step 2: Copy and paste the HTML code

To insert the HTML page you can either use the default insert Flash movie settings of your HTML editor, or simply copy and paste the HTML code we generate for you when you save the SwF file.

To do this click on "Save SwF" and then on "Copy to Clipboard". Now the created HTML code is copied to your clipboard. Open your existing HTML document and paste the content of the clipboard into, the desired position of the ticker.

Save your HTML file, and preview it to see your ticker up and running.

Possible problem:
As you can see in the code there is a "#SAVE AS SwF FILE FIRST#" text in the HTML code. After you have saved the SwF file this sentence will be replaced with the ticker name. For example, "myticker.swf. However, this path/filename assumes that you will save the "myticker.swf" to the same directory as your HTML file, and not to any subdirectory. If you have saved the myticker.swf to a subdirectory called "images" you should manually change the path to this file to "images/myticker.swf" instead of just "myticker.swf"

Step 3: Other methods

You can also use the standard Insert Flash File features off your HTML editor. If you do this you must make sure that you manually enter the desired "width" and "height" dimensions, and that the "scale" parameter is set to "noscale".

<PARAM NAME=scale VALUE=noscale>
and

scale=noscale

In case your html browser does not support the proper code please use the HTML code generated by our application.

Frequently Asked Questions - Flash News Ticker

  1. Q: After inserting the scroller in my HTML editor, the size of the ticker is different than I expected.
    A: To solve this, you should make sure you set the scale tag to "noscale", or you should copy and paste the exact HTML code created by Amara Flash News Ticker.

  2. Q: How do I save the settings for each animation?
    A: All our tools automatically save all data entered in the application as a template. It's recommended that, for each new animation you want to create, you first create a new template. To do so, click on the "New" button above the "Generate and Display" button. If you want, you can highlight the template name and enter your own unique name. Now when you close the application all the data for this specific animation will be saved under that template name.

  3. Q: Can I insert scrolling pictures into the news ticker?
    Yes this is possible by inserting the standard html image tag into the text area. For example the following code will load a picture on our server into your news ticker. Note that not all ticker effects support this.

  4. Q: When I import the files into Flash the text goes beyond the border of the saved SWF file?
    To solve this disable the border color and set the background color to transparent in the Amara Flash News Ticker software.

  5. Q: I use Frames and my animation does appear in the wrong frame?
    This happens when you entered the wrong Frame Name. Please check in your HTML code what the correct frame name is. Normally it's something such as MainFrame or Mainframe or mainframe. Be exact, if the frame name uses an uppercase, enter it as well in the target URL.
