Software Description:
LANState Personal is a simplified version of LANState, which has no Windows remote administration features, but network mapping and monitoring functions remain. It can be recommended for home and Internet usage in IP networks.
Key Features:
- Network mapping: modeling a local area network in a visual mode and then saving the result as a map, image, or XML-scheme, or you can print the network map.
- Monitoring servers and other hosts (ICMP ping and connecting to a specified TCP port are supported).
- Connection monitoring (monitoring usage of your shared resources by other users of the network) with logging, sound and screen notification, and blacklists.
- Network traffic monitoring (incoming/outgoing traffic and transfer rates).
- Port scanner. Tracing routes. Report IP and MAC address.
- Searching hosts by ICMP ping or scanning TCP ports.
- Controlling access permissions for your shared resources
- Pinging any computer on the network.
- Retrieving computer's network name by its IP address.
- Sending regular and anonymous messages to any computer on the network.
- Performing actions on network devices via the configurable context menu.
- Retrieving common information on remote hosts. Retrieving remote resources. Retrieving remote opened ports.
Editor's Review:
LANState Personal provides network mapping and monitoring functions except doesn't support Windows remote administration features. The function of the LANState Personal is enough for home. It's easy to monitor hosts, shared resources, traffic, and notifies you on events. I think it will be your good choice for monitoring and mapping your network.
