Oncilla Excel2Text Publisher Description

Oncilla Excel2Text is a tool to convert Excel files to Text files. The Text files can be in any of the following formats UTF-8, ANSI or Unicode (little endian). The tool lets you perform this conversion with out using MS Excel, it does not require that MS Excel be installed on the computer. It is particularly useful if the data in the excel sheets is non ASCII(example: Kanji) and requires to be ported to other Operating Systems like Unix and Mac.

Limitations

* The first row of any Excel worksheet, should contain column names.
* Loss of data may occur if there is mixed data in a given column, example: If you have all numeric values in a column and one text item at the end of it the program may not be able to accomodate this.

To perform a single file conversion

* Start --> Programs --> Oncilla --> Oncilla Excel2Text
* Excel File: File that needs to be converted
* Text File: Output file name, defaulted by programme.
* Worksheet: Name of the worksheet in the Excel file
* Character Set: Output file encoding (UTF-8, ANSI, Unicode)
* Field delimiter: Pick available field delimiters or enter your own.
