Your job is to hear a random pitch, from the 72 available, and guess it.
This approach forces the user to listen very carefully to the subtle changes in pitch, and provides a way to somehow "map" the listening experience, reducing the tones to more fundamental units. Hopefully, this will bring an additional level of "order" to the somewhat diffuse boundaries that exist between two adjacent notes, making the transition between them clearer, easier to perceive, and therefore, easier to remember.
