Pixelitor Publisher Description

Pixelitor is a free image editing software that supports layers, image effects, multiple undo etc. It requires Java 6. Note that it is intended to be powerful rather than simple. You should have some Photoshop or Gimp experience in order to use it, because there isn't much documentation available, and many concepts (layers, blending modes, unsharp masking, etc.) are the same. if you want to save the layer structure, use the pxc format

Pixelitor Issues:

*Save format: if you want to save the layer structure, use the pxc format. Note that "pxc" files can be opened only in Pixelitor. If you only want to save the final image, you can use in the jpeg, png, bmp or gif formats.
*Memory: this page explains how to configure the memory.
*Transparency: you can save images with transparent background in the png format, but currently not in the gif format.
