President Forever 1.15.5 - User Guide and FAQ

Screenshots - More Details

So, you want to be the President. Or better yet, you want to be a President who goes down in history as having won in a landslide victory, decisively obliterating his or her opponents. How do you do it?

Here are some hints

Momentum is a key concept in politics, and definitely in President Forever. Momentum helps you in gaining percentage points in a state, but it also helps in raising Foot Soldiers. Foot Soldiers regularly take 10 turns to complete, at 10 CPs. But if you have +4 momentum in a state, the Foot Soldiers will only take 2 (!) turns to complete, and 2 Cps
More on momentum: any undecided voters on election day will be influenced to a large degree by the various candidates state-by-state momenta. So if you have a scandal youre waiting to drop on an opponent, you might just want to wait until a few days before election day to release it. For more information in Momentum, see State Momentum.

State size. Big states, though harder to get noticed in, have a real big payload of Electoral Votes. Among these are California, New York, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Also, since each state gets 2 Electoral Votes for their Senators, the real small states have a disproportionate amount of Electoral Votes for their population, while costing very little to advertise in. For more information, see Electoral Strategy.

Foot Soldiers are key in political campaigns. Not only will they campaign for you and fundraiser for you, they also help with get-out-the-vote on election day. This can come as a surprise to other candidates who might not be keeping an eye on your foot soldier numbers in a state. For more information, see Foot Soldiers.

Some people claim that the press is the new King Maker in American presidential politics. Certainly, the press can help or hinder your campaign. It pays to spin, spin, spin. But this should be tempered by the fact that much of the national news coverage is in states that arent contested, so even if your national momentum shoots up, the effects on any given state arent as impressive. For more information, see Spinning News.
