CodeCharge Studio 4.3 Reviewed by Jeff Goldstein on Apr 7, 2011 ![]() Excellent piece of software for creating ALL types of Web based applications. The "Embedding" features allow you to add whatever features and customizations you want / need. Many have bashed the product, I guess they are / were expecting to magically press a button and have a perfect application. You still need some knowledge about coding and databases. Is it perfect - NO. Can I get a robust application out the door faster others those developing with other products or MVC's (Code Igniter, Cake, etc) the answer is YES Jeff Goldstein CodeCharge Studio 4.3 Reviewed by Denis on Nov 10, 2010 ![]() I totally agree with Robert above, the IDE is awfully slow. There are many glitches/bugs too. It used to be many times faster in CCS 2.x until YesSoftware completely screwed an otherwise excellent product. We use CodeCharge for intranet applications, but now seriously considering to move away from it. CodeCharge Studio 4.3 Reviewed by Denis on Nov 10, 2010 ![]() I tend to agree with Robert above. The IDE is awfully slow. It used to be a lot faster in CCS 2.x, but since YesSoftware completely screwed it up. We are using CodeCharge for intranet applications and now considering to switch to something else due to IDE bugs and slowness. CodeCharge Studio 4.3 Reviewed by John D. on Jun 30, 2010 ![]() I bought this garbage last year and am about to go crazy with it. When buying Code Charge I would recomend a good medical plan for possible future health issues. Have your will ready just in case. Basicaly it killed my system... CodeCharge Studio 4.2 Reviewed by Robert - bonus on Feb 6, 2010 ![]() There's a typo in the response message. CodeCharge Studio 4.2 Reviewed by Robert - part 3/3 on Feb 6, 2010 ![]() I would definitely not recommend it using for mission critical work until the IDE is fixed. Part of the IDE funcionality is provided by interpreted JavaScript code and HTML dialogs (!). Please use some compiled language to implement the IDE and don't ruin the otherwise excellent work of your software architects. CodeCharge Studio 4.2 Reviewed by Robert - part 2/3 on Feb 6, 2010 ![]() The generated code follows a well thought-out generic structure, which I like despite the fact that it leaves plenty of room for more or less trivial optimizations. (Az an example, I made a trivial guestbook application and at my first try I managed to optimze away about 95% of the generated code without loosing functionality.) The real show stopper is however the IDE, which is too slow and resource hungry. At some point you will find that you loose too much time using the CodeCharge Studio IDE, and then you have the choice to split up your project or abandon it completely and try to edit the generated code bloat manually. CodeCharge Studio 4.2 Reviewed by Robert - part 1/3 on Feb 6, 2010 ![]() Error: String or binary data would be truncated CodeCharge Studio looks promising, but, in my opinion, there's a long way to go until this product becomes practically usable in real-life projects. Review CodeCharge Studio 4.3 now and share your experience with other users. ![]() ![]() |
