In Driver Detective, you can easily run a scan of your computers device drivers by simply clicking Scan Now on the Driver Detective Home page.

Below you will find an explanation of each navigation option available from the Driver Detective toolbar:

• Register - Register your copy of Driver Detective today. Current members only need their username and password to register. Registration is fast, easy and totally secure.
• Home - Return to the front page of Driver Detective.
• History - Display a history of drivers downloaded to your system using Driver Detective.
• Tools - Change selected computer system information and various Driver Detective settings.
• Help
  • Enter registration key
  • Ask PC Drivers Headquarters a question.
  • View the About screen.
  • Exit Driver Detective.
• Last Scan - Return to your last scan result. (Available after initial scan).

What is Driver Detective Machine Intelligence and Auto Select IQ?

The first time you launch Driver Detective or when you select Auto Select in either the Tools or Welcome screens, a request is made to our server to identify your machine using a proprietary machine intelligence algorithm. The machine intelligence data is used during a Driver Scan to provide you the most accurate drivers for your computer.

The Auto Select IQ progress bar is a graphical representation of how well Driver Detective was able to identify your computer using machine intelligence. If you notice that only the Machine Brand or Product Line boxes are selected automatically by the Auto Select button, please select the remaining fields manually.

If your computer is custom built please select Use Driver Detective Universal Match Intelligence.

Driver Detective's Vista Upgrade Wizard

Driver Detective's Vista Upgrade Wizard is an industry first. The Wizard was designed to help you move to Windows Vista as easily as possible. Its unique functionality can help you in these five easy steps:

1. Vista Hardware Compatibility Check
   Driver Detective will scan your current system’s hardware configuration and determine if you meet the recommended minimum hardware requirements for the basic or premium version of Windows Vista.
2. Choose Your Vista Drivers
   Driver Detective will display a list of Vista Compatible drivers that match the hardware for your system. You then can choose which drivers to download.
3. Download Vista Drivers
   Driver Detective will automatically download all Vista Drivers that you have selected from step 2, saving you the trouble and grief of searching the internet trying to find Vista drivers.
4. Choose a Backup Location
   Driver Detective will burn the downloaded drivers to a CD (XP or higher required), or backup the files to a network, flash drive, or hard drive location of your choice.
5. Backup Your Vista Compatible Drivers
   Creates a Vista Migration CD. After a successful install of Windows Vista, insert your Vista migration CD into your CD tray and install/upgrade your device drivers.
