Can I Email Photos with XnView?

Yes. Here's how:

  1. Open XnView and navigate to the folder containing the pictures you wish to email.
  2. Select all the pictures you want to send by clicking on the first one and Ctrl-clicking additional thumbnails.
  3. Go to Tools->Send by Email.
  4. The send by email dialog will open where you can compose your message. You can enter the recipient, subject, and message text here, or leave it blank to fill in these fields later in your default mail program.
  5. Under the images section, choose a size for the images you will send. * Only choose original if you know your recipient will be able to receive very large files. * Choose large if you are only sending a handful of images. * Choose medium or small if you are sending many images.
  6. Check the box for converting to JPEG. This will compress the images t make the file size small. Choose a quality setting between 80-95. If you are sending a lot of large images, you can use a lower quality setting to make them smaller.
  7. Only check the box for "Delete Metadata" if you do not want to include camera information or other data that is written to the files such as keywords, captions, and so on.
  8. When you click OK, you may get a warning that a program is trying to access email address information. Click Allow, so that XnView can access your email program.
  9. A new message with attachments will open in your default mail program. If you did not do it previously, address and compose your message, and then send it.
